The payment layer for onchain money.

Rhoote sits between the balance you already hold onchain and the card terminal in front of you. The merchant is paid the way they always are; the funding happens on the chain, in the background, in seconds.

What Rhoote is

Rhoote is a payment layer, not a wallet and not an exchange. You keep holding your assets; Rhoote gives them a way out into the ordinary economy — a card number, an authorisation, a settlement.

Three things make that work: a card issued by a regulated partner, a stablecoin rail that can move value the instant an authorisation arrives, and a settlement account on chain that reconciles afterwards. None of it asks the merchant to know what a blockchain is.

How a payment works

  1. You tap or type the card. Exactly like any other Visa payment. The terminal asks for an authorisation for the amount in local currency.
  2. Rhoote checks your onchain balance. Your spendable balance is read straight from the chain — USDG first, then RH ETH if USDG does not cover the amount. If it is there and the card's controls allow it, the authorisation is approved in under a second.
  3. The funding order goes out. An order is placed against your balance for the authorised amount plus the conversion, so the position is reserved before the merchant is ever paid.
  4. Settlement, on chain. The merchant is settled through the card network on the usual cycle; the matching movement is recorded onchain and shows up in your transactions with its status: Settled

An authorisation that is never captured — a hotel hold, a fuel pump pre-auth — releases the reservation on its own. You see it as Pending until it clears or drops.

Assets you can spend

The order is deliberate: stablecoins first means a payment rarely touches a volatile position, and you are not forced to sell ETH to buy coffee.

Wallet and sign-in

Your wallet is the account. Connecting with MetaMask signs you in; there is no password to lose. Other wallets are coming — today MetaMask is the only one supported.

After connecting you can add an email. It is only used to reach you about payments and the daily airdrop, and you can carry on without one.

Identity verification

A card is issued by a regulated partner, so the partner has to know who is spending. Rhoote asks for one government document — passport, national ID card or driving licence — and nothing else. Your name and date of birth are read from the document, so there is no form to fill in.

StateWhat it means
RequiredNo document submitted yet. The card page stays locked.
In reviewYour document is with the issuing partner. Nothing else to do — the card page unlocks by itself when the check clears.
DoneCleared. You can generate your card.

Rhoote keeps the outcome of the check, not the document.

The card

Generating the card takes one click once you are verified. It is a virtual Visa debit card, live immediately: full number, expiry and security code, ready for online checkouts and for Apple or Google Pay.

Limits and controls

Every card starts with a $5,000 monthly limit. Three switches decide where it can be used:

Changes apply to the next authorisation. Freezing the card blocks everything at once and is reversible from the same button.

Daily airdrop

Having an account earns RH every day. A day counts when you sign in, and it counts double when the card pays for something. The streak raises a multiplier, capped at thirty days — the drop lands in your RH balance the next morning.

Missing a day does not wipe the balance you have already earned; it resets the multiplier.

Where Rhoote works

Cards are issued to residents of the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom, Switzerland, the United States and Canada. The card itself is accepted wherever Visa is, which is to say almost everywhere.

Other regions open as the issuing partner's licences extend. Connecting a wallet and looking around the app is not restricted.

Custody and data

Rhoote does not hold your keys. Your assets stay in your wallet until an authorisation reserves part of them, and the reservation is visible onchain.

Fees and rates

Spending USDG costs nothing beyond the payment itself. When RH ETH has to be converted, the rate quoted at authorisation is the rate you pay — it is shown before the payment goes through, and the conversion spread is the only charge.

No monthly fee, no issuance fee for the virtual card, no minimum balance.

Something not behaving? Write to support@rhoote.family with your wallet address and roughly when it happened — that is enough to find the authorisation. For everything else there is how it works on the main site.
